We're Boring You, Aren't We?

Rosie here to apologize for the lack of updates. Brimzapalooza and I have been working on some new ideas for the ol' blog. We were getting bored of the [dating site] so we've decided to look into other options. We've got a few ideas in the works, we just need to get the ball rolling so that we'll have enough to entertain everyone.

Over the past 5ish months of having these whackjobs message and harass me, I've discovered a few things. One of which being that these men [using that term loosely] think that just because they want to talk to you, they just assume that you want to talk to them. I live in a major city, I have many a friend who drinks, I go to a lot of bars against my will. Even people in bars get the hint when you're not into them. The difference between a public place and on the internet is that someone can smile at you in a bar, on the street, while using public transportation, etc and you have the option to not smile back. Here in the land of the tubes, similar to Mario 3 - world 7 - level 6, it's all free range to these dudes.

So! Here we have Nabil. I'm not too down with smalltalk even from my friends, but I'm even more against it when someones iming me on a dating site. The truth of the matter is that they have every option to message me before sending an im, the reason that I started this blog was for the sheer fact that people tend to skip that step in the meeting process. I fully believe that you should have the option rather than an order to speak with someone. Nabil does not agree, apparently. ALSO! Now, I know my posts are few and far between, but I think it's because of that whole thing dangling between my legs...Rosie lacks that, so she gets the creepers on a whole different level.

As we all can see, there are some connotations within that message that could refer to some, shall we say, lascivious acts... About 25 minutes later I received response number 2.

Allergies and the end of the winter are really getting to me, so I have absolutely no tolerance for morons. I'm reaching back into the archives for winner #1. SPRING BREAK 98!

Well, no.. Not exactly, but I did need another break from this. I couldn't deal with morons and then every time I tried to write a blog my blood pressure went through the roof. I'll have you know that I live in an apartment building which has 4 floors and I'm on the second floor. The roof is pretty far!

To begin this entry, I will start with a mere observation of a visitor to my page. Direct quote from his page: 'I'm kind of a grammer nazi. Sorry girls, learn to spell!' I'm pretty into grammar myself, and I've always learned that grammar and spelling are different parts of language. The fact that hes a "grammer nazi" and tells the ladies that THEY need to learn to spell?! REALLY, DUDE?! He needs to go back into his internet glass house and blog some more. His blog was on the list of 6 things he couldn't live without.

So next, we have a guy who didn't actually contact me either, he only went to my page. He's from Italy and wasn't very creepy at all. HOWEVER! He did leave us a recipe for lasagna.. Just in case we needed it.

Cooking!
Here's a good recipe!

Hand-Rolled Lasagna with Ricotta/béchamel, Asparagus and Roasted Red Peppers (Topped with a fresh pomodoro sauce)

4 lasagna noodles
1 cup filling (see below)
4 1/4 inch slices fresh mozzarella
12 pieces fresh asparagus–blanched, ends cut
1/2 cup roasted red pepper filets (buy prepared or better yet, roast your own)
2 cups pomodoro sauce (see below)
3 large fresh basil leaves–slivered
2 sprigs of whole basil leaves–for garnish

Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling, salted water for about 10 minutes, and drain while the noodles are still firm. Rinse the noodles under cold water to stop further cooking (remember, they will cook more in the oven.) Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

To Assemble

Lay each noodle flat. Divide the filling evenly in the center of each noodle. Top each with a slice of the mozzarella, 3 pieces of asparagus, and a few filets of the peppers.

Fold one end of the noodle over the filling and then roll. Place each piece in a greased baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until the center is warm. While the lasagna is baking, make the sauce.

Remove the lasagna from the oven and place two pieces on each plate, as in the photo. Top with the sauce. Garnish with slivered basil and sprig.

So the funny parts about this one? No picture involved and he appears to be German. I have a how slew of family that're Italian and I doubt they'd trust a German's recipe for lasagna, but hey - who knows! Also, if you happen to make this, let me know how it goes.

And as always, to round out this entry, we need someone foreign trying to be my friend. At points in this conversation I just stared at my screen and blinked a bunch until I could even write back. I asked Run BrizMC for help a few times too. I usually look at people's pages when they message me, but this one - I guess I didn't get around to it right away and THEN realized he was actually in India. You soon will figure out what made me look at his page too.....

As you can see, I really could have cared less with knowing what he meant by 'colors'. I'd assume he means he just wanted new attributes to his fantasy world, but hey.. Who knows. For our next contender, we have Bobby. I can call him that because its part of his actual name. Bobby imed me a few weeks ago and I'd been saving him for the right blog. This one seem appropriate. He's from a state roughly a thousand miles away and had his settings that you can't message him if you're more than 250 miles from him. He imed me, mind you. He had a whole rant on his page about women rejecting him because he's been laid off and is living back at home. I feel as though THESE are not the reason that women reject him. You'll see why.
